    Description

    A very rare letter of great significance to early aviation history.
    AERO Club of America letter dated 2nd June, 1916 signed by President Alan R. Hawley Hawley on club letterhead with embossed gold seal.
    The AERO Club of America was affiliated with the
    Automobile Club of America
    , (founded in 1899) of which Alan Hawley was a founding member
    Noted Officers and Committee Chairs include;
    Alan R Hawley
    Rear Admiral Robert E. Peary
    Cornelius Vanderbilt
    Rear Admiral Bradley A. Fiske
    James Gordon Bennett
    and many other early aviation pioneers, many of which were members of the U. S. military.
    The letter was typed on club stationary that measures 17" x 11" folded to 8 1/2" x 11" then folded to fit into a standard envelope.
