1935 Original AMELIA EARHART Advertising Flyer POSTER for BATTLE CREEK Tour
This leaflet flyer was never displayed. It was saved by an attendee of the event, and was filed away, protected from light. The ink is as bold as the day it was printed.
Original vintage double-sided handbill advertising AMELIA EARHART's personal appearance at the W. K. KELLOGG AUDITIORIUM in Battle Creek, Michigan, in 1935. (just over 2 years before her disappearance.)
The Emerson Bureau had booked an extensive and sometimes grueling lecture tour of speaking engagements across the country for Earhart. These lectures, which usually paid between 0 and 0, provided income as well as continued exposure for the aviator. During these talks, Earhart would publicize her latest book or flight and would also discuss topics such as women's issues and the importance of aviation. This flyer is from that tour.
The front of the flyer reproduces Ben Pinchot's studio portrait of the aviator in a velvet dress, pearls, and her honorary major's pin. The back shows Earhart clad in her flying suit, standing on her plane before the historic 1932 solo flight across the Atlantic.
Flyer measures 8" x 11" and has not been trimmed, altered, lined, or repaired.
Displays beautifully, with very faint handling creases, and a 1/4" closed tear at left edge. No other rips, tears, holes, tape residue, or repairs.
The flyer shown in the pics is the actual flyer you will receive. I HAVE ONLY ONE!
