  • Condition: I would grade this banknote as a nice very fine or better with all the details being well preserved. The note is soiled especially along the edges. It has several vertical folds in the center but no obvious horizontal fold. The paper of the note is thick and retains much of its original stiffness and crispiness. The note has folds, creases, bumps, soiling and minor light staining. The corners are intact but show some rounding as well as a few bumps. The note has no pinholes, no graffiti, no tears, and no splits. Its edges have some roughness especially at the end of the folds.     Description:
    A nice very fine or better Banknote from Ethiopia. This is the no date 1966, five dollars currency note issued by the National Bank of Ethiopia. The front of the banknote is brown on multicolored underprint and shows the bust of Emperor Haile Selassie to the right. There is the image of the Bole Airport in Addis Ababa to the left of the front. The back, which is orange in color, depicts the image of the Ethiopian Arms which is a crowned lion with a flagged cross in its paw. The banknote does not display the date anywhere. It displays the denomination on both the front and back. It has one signature on the front. This particular note has the serial number L332063, which is displayed in black twice on the front. The note has no watermark and no security thread. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
