Renzo Pasolini on a Benelli 350cc four cylinder Grand Prix racer!
The picture was taken during the East German Grand Prix that was ridden at the Sachsenring on
the 11
th
of July 1971
.
The Benelli fours were very interesting machines, Kel Carruthers won in 1969 the 250cc World Championship machine on the 250cc version of the Benelli four. They featured gear driven d.o.h.c. engines that became a standard in four cylinder motorcycle engine building.
Pasolini needs no further introduction, he was one of the best riders ever. This photograph represents a most historic combination in the history of motorcycling: Renzo Pasolino and the Benelli four!
