Description
A superb and rare photo of the magnificentBenelli Tornado 900
.
Benelli aimed for the American market, where they enjoyed great successes in the 1960s and 1970s. The Tornado also was used i
n the early 1970’s, long distance racing scene.
These events were responsible for the quick gaining popularity of the heavier sports motorcycle, like the Benelli 650 Tornado, Ducati 750 SS, the Moto Guzzi V7 Sport, and the Laverda 750 SFC, but also the Japanese machines like the Honda CB 750 Four, the Kawasaki 500 and 750 two strokes. Riders that would make world fame, like
Franco
Uncini
and
Marco
Lucchinelli
, all participated in these races before they made the steps to the Grand Prix World Championship racing scene.
It is rare to obtain a
non period
photo of a Benelli Tornado, especially from a pre-production prototype. Therefore it is printed in a nice large format of ca. 8" x 9" (ca.20 x 23 cm).
