A superb and rare photo, made from the original negative, of the great Bill Lomas during the Ulster Grand Prix of 1955, which he won!. Bill is riding the Moto Guzzi Bialbero 500cc single. This magnificent machine was designed by the brilliant ing. Giulio Carcano. A very light, fast and terrifically streamlined machine.
This photo is very historic. Not only would Bill Lomas win this race, it also was the last Grand Prix victory for the 500cc Guzzi single. Bill Lomas also would become world champion that year on the similar 350cc version of Guzzi’s wonderful dohc single. He would repeat that fact in 1956. Bill also won the 350cc race at
Ulster
in 1955 on the similar 350 Guzzi.
