. The picture was taken during the
Isle of Man
125cc Ultra Lightweight T.T.
races that year. The
first
time that they were held on the
Island
, so it is the
first
time the famous Bialbero MV was seen in action there as well!
The famous MV Agusta 125cc Bialbero works racer featured double overhead camshafts that were driven by a gear train. In front of the cylinder the magneto was mounted. This early version still has the outside flywheel, in 1953 it would dissapear. The engine delivered a power output of 16 hp.
The beautifuly made MV Agusta 125 Bialbero gave the famous MV factory its first of many world titles.
That was in 1952 with Cecil Sandford as the rider. He won the title on a similar machine as on this photo. That year MV Agusta also won the 125cc constructors world championship with the 125 Bialbero
