This is a vintage Japanese
Uchiwa
or fan from the 1930's. It is made of paper with sturdy split bamboo ribs. It has hand painted design of samurai and Mt.Fuji with a signature of the artist,
Takarayama
(see pictures 3 & 4). This Uchiwa was a summer gift from
Marumatsu
shoes store (see picture 10).
